Appendix
1. For Associate Professor and Lecturer, tenure is given. For Assistant Professor, initial term of employment is 5 years, and an additional term of employment is limited to an additional 5 years. To qualify for a tenure position, the candidate’s performance during employment will be evaluated.

2. The Laboratory of Forest Policy constitutes the Research Group of Forest Science, together with seven other laboratories, namely, Silviculture and Forest Ecology, Ecosystem Management, Earth Surface Processes and Land Management, Woody Plant Biology, Timber Engineering, Forest Bioresource Technology, and Wood Chemistry.

3. The successful applicant will partly or fully give the lectures listed below, for which the Laboratory of Forest Policy is responsible.
(1) Subjects in the Graduate School of Agriculture: Study on Agriculture Science I & II, Seminar on Agriculture Science I & II, Advanced Integrated Landscape Management, Advanced Field Research and Data Analysis on Forest-landscape Management I & II, Mitigation of Global Warming Effect, and others.
(2) Subjects in the School of Agriculture: Forest Planning, Exercise of Forest Planning, Forest Policy, Forest Sociology, Environmental and Resource economics, Data Analysis on Forest Science, Practical Field Work on Silviculture and Forest Conservation, Research and Thesis Writing Seminar on Forest Science, Field Work on Forest Science I & II, Seminar on Forest Science I & II, Graduation Thesis, and others.
(3) Subjects in the General Education: English Seminar “Introduction to Forest Science”, Freshman Seminar “Invitation to Forest Science”, and others.
(4) Subjects in other Graduate Schools: Forest Conservation Policy, Seminar on Tourism Field Surveys

4. The Laboratory of Forest Policy conducts social scientific research focusing on the formation of policy and the development of social/economic systems with the ultimate goal of sustainable forest managements. Special attention has also been paid to social/economic phenomena that emerge from the relationship between natural resources, notably forests, and human society.
