Institute for Protein Research (IPR) is a research institute that conducts groundbreaking life science research based on the structure and function of proteins, using creative approaches and innovative technologies. As a Joint-Usage/Research Center, IPR also contributes to the scientific community by promoting collaborative research activities with domestic and international researchers.
In order to develop above-mentioned activities as well as to explore novel areas of life science research, IPR is seeking for a successful researcher to fill an assistant professor position in the Laboratory for Protein Organic Chemistry, Division of Protein Chemistry. The aim of the Laboratory for Protein Organic Chemistry is to establish efficient synthetic route for protein including post-translational modified ones, which cannot be easily prepared by the recombinant DNA technology. In addition, the Laboratory also aims to realize new protein research using the synthetic proteins.
The laboratory is seeking a highly motivated assistant professor who can provide leadership in synthetic organic chemistry as well as analytical chemistry and chemical biology fields.
The successful applicant will be responsible for not only conducting research but also teaching chemistry and biology at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
