The Earth and Planetary Science Division studies the past, current, and future states of earth environments and their mechanisms through Geology & Geobiology, Geochemistry & Cosmochemistry, Earth &
Planetary Physics, and Ecology, and contributes to solve global issues such as environmental problems and natural disasters through Earth Systems Science.
The educational programs in our division focus on the development of human resources who promote these studies internationally. Promotion of the collaborative works and strengthening of the
scientific network between the five research groups are now being planned in our division.
We seek to employ one person who has made significant achievements in one of the above
five research fields and can promote research and education closely related to the above the other research fields. The applicants are also expected to actively participate in undergraduate research and education in the Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences, Faculty of Science, Nagoya University.

◆Department Outline
The Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences consists of the Earth and Planetary Science Division
(EPS) and Hydrospheric-Atmospheric Science Division (HAS). The present position is available in the EPS
Division, which consists of five separate Groups (or koza): Earth Systems Science, Geology & Geobiology,
Geochemistry & Cosmochemistry, Earth & Planetary Physics, and Ecology.
