Use of biosensors for the isolation of extracellular vesicles in liquid biopsy

The present project aims to create specific biosensors for the optical detection and isolation of extracellular vesicles by using luminescent nanostructures in liquid biopsy. Nanostructures are important in biomedical field and extracellular vesicles play an important biological role in cell-to-cell communication, especially in a cancer context. The combination of these features will allow the creation of an optical sensor, magnetically activated, to selectively isolate specific extracellular vesicles in different cancers, allowing the characterization of their non-coding RNA cargo for liquid biopsy
