Offer Description
The candidate is expected to contribute to the Department's research, teaching and third mission. His/her research will focus on the history of gender, citizenship, and modernization in the Ottoman Empire. The selected candidate will contribute to the scholarly debate with ground-breaking original research based primarily on Ottoman Turkish sources and archival research on Ottoman-Turkish documents. An excellent command of Ottoman Turkish as a research language and a proven track record of research in Ottoman archives are therefore required.
