The sector is interested in scientific and didactic-training activities in the field of the integrated study of the e cell ofliving organisms, with particular regard to basic mechanisms involved in the following processes: expression, duplication and transmission genetic information, development, differentiation, cell proliferation, biogenesis of organelles and structures cellular and interactions between cells. The sector alsostudies the cellular basis of motor activity, behavior e evolution. Biotechnological applications and general andmolecular genetics of knowledge in processes above are a relevant aspect to the sector. Learning and using alladvanced biological technologies, including technologies recombinants and the use of transgenic animals, is essential to achieve the objectives indicated.
