Offer Description

The research is based on the principles of Supramolecular Chemistry and on the molecular self-assembling. The candidate will work on the synthesis of fluorophores such as BODIPY or cyanines wihch will be used to functionalise prismarene-based receptors in order to obtain fluorescent chemosensors for monitoring organic water contaminants. The candidate will study the interactions of the chemosensors with the target contaminants (PAHs, PFAS, HCB) in the solid state (by means of PXRD and SCXRD techniques) and in solution (by means of spectrophotometric, spectrofluorimetric and NMR titrations). Finally she/he will test the most promising chemosensors on real water samples coming from polluted areas in Sardinia.
