YOUR TEAM

You will be working in a multicultural and multi-disciplinary group, where engineers and material scientists collaborate, each with their own expertise, to carry out common research. 

The Printed and Molecular Electronics (PME) Research Line is coordinated by Dr. Mario Caironi, who has extensive experience in printed, flexible and large-area electronics.

One of the main research activities of PME focuses on the study and development of edible electronic transistors and circuits based on food or food derivatives, for future edible electronic systems.

 

Within the team, your main responsibilities will be to:

 

·develop edible electronic circuits based on edible transistors, preferably electrolyte gated transistors;

·interface edible circuits with electrochemical sensors and edible power supplies;

·contribute to proof-of-concepts edible electronic systems, such as edible pills and edible tags;

·promote ELFO to stakeholders and general public.

 

This open position is financed by European Research Council within the ERC Starting Grant “ELFO: Electronic Food”, Grant Agreement 864299, CUP J54I20002070006 (https://elfoproject.eu/ ).  

 

 WHAT WOULD MAKE YOU SHINE

·A PhD in Materials Science or Electronics Engineering, or closely related disciplines

·Proven laboratory skills on the development of electronic or electrochemical devices, especially electrolyte-gated transistors

·A strong publication record

·The ability to properly report, organize and publish research data

·Documented experience in coaching junior scientists

·Good command in spoken and written English
