YOUR TEAM
You will be working in a multicultural and multi-disciplinary group, where chemists, engineers and materials scientists collaborate, each with their expertise, to carry out a scientific activity with a shared research goal.
The Applied Energy Materials and Technologies Research line is coordinated by Isabella Poli, who has extensive experience in photovoltaic materials and characterization.
The research focuses on the development of novel materials and technologies for carbon capture and utilization, solar fuels generation and photovoltaic.
Your main responsibilities will be:
·design, synthesis and characterization of new types of photocatalysts, based on metal organic frameworks (MOFs) and metal halide perovskite (MHP) materials as efficient (photo)catalysts for CO2 reduction, focusing on solvent-free synthesis, such as mechanochemical approaches.
·carry out electrochemical measurements and evaluate the results to gain insight into the redox activity and electrocatalytic performance of the so-obtained MOFs and MHPs.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
·A PhD in chemistry, materials science, chemical engineering and similar disciplines
·Documented experience in the synthesis and characterization of nanomaterials
·Knowledge on multiple characterization techniques used in materials/photocatalysis investigations such as SEM, XRD
·Strong publication record
·Ability to properly report, organize and publish research data
·Documented experience in coaching junior scientists
·Good command of spoken and written English
ADDITIONAL SKILLS
·Previous experience in synthesis of metal organic frameworks
·Knowledge of gas chromatography
·Good communication skills
·Strong problem-solving attitude
·High motivation to learn
