Genomic data generated with these technologies will be used for the characterization of genetic-diseases linked loci (obscure to short-read sequencing) or for the reconstruction of plant/vertebrate genomes.

The applicant should have both theoretical and practical knowledge in molecular biology techniques and the capability of adjusting and optimizing protocols. More information can be provided upon request or during the interview.

Employer

The Functional Genomics Laboratory at the Department of Biotechnologies in University of Verona, lead by Professor Massimo Delledonne, is an important national and international reference point for the sequencing and structural and functional characterization of genomes including model and non-model organisms, plants, bacteria, animals, and humans. Its research focuses on the characterization of genomes by implementing the most advanced DNA sequencing technologies, including MinION, PacBio and Optical Mapping. Moreover, the group is involved in national and international projects, also within the Horizon2020 European framework.
