YOUR TEAM 

We are looking for a brilliant Researcher/Post Doc (depending on the seniority of the candidate) to work in the context of an ambitious and visionary European FET project within the Plasmon Nanotechnology Research Line led by Dr Francesco De Angelis. We aim to enable future technologies for automated platforms for pharmacological screening.

The candidate will work on the development of a new experimental setup for cell measurement with high automation level and computer controlled devices. Moreover, the candidate will also work on the development of novel algorithms for analysing large datasets containing cell electrophysiological activity and live cell Raman spectra

Within the team, your main responsibilities will be:

• Confer with principal investigator to review work assignments and develop plans for research experiments and make modifications to existing procedures and techniques to meet the needs of the particular studies.

• Perform a variety of complex technical duties involved in conducting physical and other research laboratory tests and experiments to obtain data for research purposes and assemble data sets from experimental results.

• Review laboratory methods, manuals, scientific journals, abstracts and other literature for information applicable to research experiments. Review work of lower level laboratory personnel and assist in training new personnel

This open position/research is financed by Tox Free EU project (GA 964518)

Since the project has a clear translational potential and it will likely bring to the creation of a startup company, we will higlhy value candidates willing to be involved in a startup project. 

 ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

•    Documented experience experience in programming with Python/C#/C++ for realizing GUI and for interfacing and controlling lab equipment.

•    A strong publication record

•    The ability to properly report, organize and publish research data

•    Documented experience in coaching junior scientists

•    Good command in spoken and written English

•    Experience in data analysis with Principal Component Analysis and machine learning algorithms

•    Good communication skills 

•    Strong problem solving attitude
