Post-doc position at the intersection of Computational Mechanics and Materials Science

I am looking for a highly motivated Post-doc applicant to work on an interdisciplinary research project involving computational mechanics and machine learning for structural design. The project is part of an ERC-2021-CoG research project ArcHIDep (Revolutionary solid state deposition system to obtain heterogeneous materials).

The deadline for application is mid-December 2022 and the expected start date is early February 2023. The position will have a 1+1-year contract covering the stipend, and health insurance.

Minimum Qualifications:

PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science or closely related fields.

Finite Element simulation experience using Abaqus, or Ansys, etc.

Programming experience in MATLAB, Python or etc.

Machine learning model development

Strong analytical and quantitative skills

Fluency in English, both spoken and written

Preferred Qualifications:

Research background in multiscale computational modelling

Research background in computational fluid dynamics
