This project aims at obtaining a fundamental understanding of the influence of disorder and defects on metamaterial functionality. Since the mechanical properties of metamaterials are highly dependent on their structure, the introduction of geometric perturbations and localised asymmetries is expected to have a pronounced effect on their properties. - omissis
