Offer Description
CNIT - Consorzio Nazionale Interuniversitario per le Telecomunicazioni, Laboratory of the University of Cassino and Southern Lazio, Italy, is seeking to appoint one Doctoral Candidate (DC) to join the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Doctoral Network on “Integrated Sensing and communications for future vehicuLAr systems a Network of Doctoral Students” (ISLANDS).
The Role
The DC will consider ISAC methodologies in vehicular environments when the network devices are equipped with beyond-Massive MIMO antennas and in particular XL-MIMO and holographic MIMO structures. Given the large size of such antennas, the far-field hypothesis is not always verified, and novel methodologies will be introduced to design near-field (Fresnel region) beamformers and transceivers for ISAC in vehicular environments. The DC will also investigate holographic MIMO schemes for extremely reliable communications (secondment at NOKIA) and energy-efficient near-field beamforming for ISAC-enabled XL-MIMO structures.
|
Scientific context: The DC will consider ISAC methodologies in vehicular environments when the network devices are equipped with beyond-Massive MIMO antennas and in particular XL-MIMO and holographic MIMO structures. Given the large size of such antennas, the far-field hypothesis is not always verified, and novel methodologies will be introduced to design near-field (Fresnel region) beamformers and transceivers for ISAC in vehicular environments. The DC will also investigate holographic MIMO schemes for extremely reliable communications energy-efficient near-field beamforming for ISAC-enabled XL-MIMO structures. |
Objectives: Development of ISAC transceiver and resource allocation schemes for CAM services with holographic/XL-MIMO antennas. |
Expected results: Novel transceivers and resource allocation schemes for ISAC with beyond-massive MIMO antenna deployments. |
Acquire knowledge: Design holographic MIMO schemes for extremely reliable communications; develop energy efficient ISAC schemes in the near-field for XL-MIMO antenna structures. |
Planned secondment(s): Nokia Solutions and Networks GMBH & Co KG (Germany) for 3 months; European location to be defined for 3 months. |
Ph.D. enrollment: University of Cassino and Southern Lazio (Italy). |
Gross salary/year: 46939.20 € + family allowance (if applicable) |
