Offer Description

Efforts are currently being made to provide new approaches for identifying, measuring, controlling, and safeguarding the ecosystem services offered by forest resources. One component is examining the implementation of financial incentives and market mechanisms, such as providing remuneration for ecosystem services (ES), the assessment of certification and labelling programmes and to create new regulations to protect and maintain the services offered by forests.

Eligibility criteria

- MSc in Agricultural and forestry Sciences and Technologies, MSc in Economics, MSc in Environmental Engineering, or equivalent Degrees according to the previous guidelines.
- PhD in disciplines related to the subject of call (i.e., Agricultural economics, Environmental economics, Environmental engineering).

Selection process

-Relevant experiences in the sector, acquired at both Italian and foreign institutions, are applicable to the proposal.
-Proficiency in environmental sciences is necessary to comprehend the complex structure and fluctuations of forest ecosystems.
-Skill in quantitative abilities is necessary for the assessment of ecosystem services and the interpretation of spatial data.
-Ability to utilize both hardware and software resources to create economic and territorial analysis models.
-Proficient in developing and executing certification and labeling initiatives to safeguard forest ecosystem services.
-Good stakeholder engagement skills and effective relationship.
-Effective communication skills for sharing research findings and increasing awareness of the significance of preserving forest ecosystem services.
-Fluency in the English language (ability to translate scientific literature and engage in related debates).
For foreign candidates, a good knowledge of Italian is required.
