Offer Description
: The aim of the research activity is to develop the design of an innovative heat exchanger system that employs nanofluids, porous media (foams and parallel channel systems) and uses both sensitive and latent techniques. The heat exchanger can be considered as a thermal system with or without foams and with nanoparticles and gases and/or nanofluids, as working fluid and phase change materials (PCMs (nanoPCM) as storage medium). The combined use of nanofluids with foams and nanoparticles with PCMs or foams and PCMs provides possible ways to significantly improve the performance of the heat exchanger.
The specific objectives to finalize the research activity will be oriented to determine the optimal configurations of heat exchanger systems and develop guidelines to establish the best combination of nanofluids, foams and PCMs in terms of thermal efficiency of the heat transfer
