Offer Description

The research fellow will have to investigate the landscape of floating gate memories and emerging resistive switching memories such as RRAM in a manner functional to the development of a spiking neural network (SNN), highlighting the figures of merit of each technology. In this perspective, the activity includes the development of models for simulating different types of memory within the SNN as well as investigating plasticity mechanisms that can be implemented in the memory, potentially exploiting the intrinsic dynamics of the device. In parallel, a characterization activity must provide feedback on the limitations of implementable synaptic weights, such as the number of bits per cell, the drift of the synaptic weight value, and the impact of non-idealities.
