Offer Description
The research aims to investigate Iranian toponyms
attested in Greek papyri and inscriptions (up to the late antiquity and Byzantine periods). More
specifically, the researcher (proficient in Greek and with experience in digital humanities) will be
expected to: (1) retrieve, catalog, classify and linguistically analyse the Iranian toponyms attested in Greek
papyri and inscriptions; (2) identify additional tools, resources, digital environments, open science forpapyrology and epigraphy, and webGIS to enhance the research conducted on papyrus and epigraphic sources. In order to provide a comprehensive picture, the forms analysed will be organized in a database
that will contain: a) the toponyms attested in Greek and Latin works that will be investigated by the otherparticipants in this project; b) the new forms examined by the researcher.
