Ca’ Foscari invites applications for a permanent position of Full Professor of Chemistry for the environment and for cultural heritage.

Ca’ Foscari is looking for a full professor of Chemistry for the environment and for cultural heritage capable of inspiring students to become game-changers in their own fields and to make a genuine difference in the world.

Teaching : basic and advanced courses in the field of Chemistry applied to Cultural Heritage (CHIM/12) for students attending BA, MA and PhD programs offered by the University. In particular, the Department is interested in advanced teaching courses focusing on materials for arts and architecture, as well as on methodologies to support conservation and restoration of the cultural heritage.

Research: the candidate should contribute to enhance the scientific production in the academic discipline CHIM/12 (Chemistry applied to Cultural Heritage). In particular, the Department is interested in developing its research activity in (i) the characterization of materials for arts and architecture, (ii) deterioration and indoor/outdoor decay of cultural heritage materials, (iii) new and innovative methodologies for conservation and remediation actions on the cultural heritage. The candidate should also be committed to acquiring and implement international and national research projects, as well as to promote actions concerning third mission and technological transfer.

The position is at the Department of Environmental Sciences, Informatics and Statistics .

The Department is engaged in multidisciplinary research, carried out by brilliant researchers in the fields of environmental systems analysis, management and modelization of environmental and informatic systems, climate studies, complexity, preservation of cultural heritage and sustainability.
