Offer Description

The project aims at comparing quick and time-consuming approaches for the coastal resilience analysis. The first goal is the modelling of coastal inundation and morphological changes over selected European beaches. After the standardization of the combined use of observations and modelling, the second goal is the search for indicators to correlate wave forcing and beach morphology and evaluate coastal resilience, as well as adaptation/mitigation strategies in view of future climatic projections.

Benefits

The funding duration for the DC is 36 months and, according to the HE/MSCA rules (https://marie-sklodowska-curie-actions.ec.europa.eu/actions/doctoral-networks ), the EU provides support for each recruited DC in the form of a living and a mobility allowances (38,054 € gross per year), and, if applicable, a family allowance (401 € gross per month).

 

Eligibility criteria

Note that in order to be eligible for this position, applicants:

• Must not have a doctoral degree at the date of their recruitment,
• Can be of any nationality,
• Should be enrolled in a doctoral programme during the project,
• Should comply with the mobility rules: in general, they must not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in the country of therecruiting organization for more than 12 months in the 36 months immediately before their recruitment date.

In addition, the candidate should obtain the Visa, if necessary, according to the law in Italy.

Selection process

The selection process will be organized by the Recruitment-Advisory Committee of this position according to the HE/MSCA Grant Agreement. The selection will be based on the relevance of studies to the position research topic, the degree grades, the relevance of thesis (if any) and/or publications (if any) to the position research topic, the level of skills and qualifications, and the interview of each applicant.
