Development and Validation of Control Systems for Propulsion Systems Testing

Updated: over 1 year ago
Deadline: 03 Oct 2022

The first part of the research project will be focused on the design of a system for hydrogen production and storage, necessary to provide fuel to the sustainable propulsion systems that will be tested. Such system will include an electrolyzer, for hydrogen production, a compressor and a tank for hydrogen storage (to be performed at a pressure higher than the atmospheric pressure).
The second stage of the research project will consist in the development of the testing system, i.e., integration of the test bench components and implementation of the control strategies, necessary to manage the integration of the test bench components, in Rapid Control Prototyping systems. The integration of the components will be validated through the testing of real components characteristic of sustainable powertrains, such as an internal combustion engine fueled with hydrogen or a fuel cell.
