Offer Description
Normative databases of anterior eye anatomical parameters collect information from a population of interest to establish a baseline distribution of theoretically normal patients and are crucial tools in optometry and ophthalmology care. Here the challenge is twofold, on the one hand it is important to keep them updated following the development of ophthalmological technology, on the other hand it is necessary to foresee their extension to further anatomical details, in view of new and non-invasive screening tools for relevant pathologies or efficient monitoring of the patient response to medical treatments. The goal of this research will be to provide a new, large and more accurate database by exploiting the use of two emerging and powerful optometric technologies such as optical coherence tomography (OCT) and Scheimpflug tomography.
