The hand movements control is a fundamental capacity to interact with the environment and crucial for the autonomy of patients in which this possibility has been lost. The medial parieto-frontal circuit is an important node in the control and planning of motor acts in all primates. Starting from the acquisition of neuroanatomical data obtained from neuronal tracer injections in non human primates, and from human and non human histological materials, we would plan a statistico-computational analysis focused on the identification of anatomical patterns tipycal of our regions of interest, localized in the posterior parietal and premotor cortices.
To do this, the Research Fellow has to understand how to use neuroanatomical information, used by our brain, to decode and simulate, using algorithms, the motor control, mandatory phase necessary to develop BMI (brain machine interfaces).
