Commissioning of the ENUBET demonstrator and R...

Updated: over 2 years ago
Deadline: 29 Sep 2021

The first phase of the programme is aimed at the finalization of the ENUBET “demonstrator”. This is an advanced prototype of the instrumentation of the decay region for a monitored neutrino beam. The setup is being delivered and assembled at INFN-LNL. The demonstrator will be exposed at particle beams at CERN in a first pilot exposure at the beginning of the AdR and a final one at about one half of the AdR. The data will allow to demostrate the effectiveness and scalability of the developed detector technology. In the second year, the activity will focus on the development of an innovative detector technology for fast timing over large surfaces in the context of new concept neutrino beams using thin-gap Micro Pattern Gaseous Detectors. The project offers the opportunity to acquire expertise in sampling calorimetry, Silicon PhotoMultipliers sensors, Micro-Pattern Gaseous Detectors, the calibration of a large detector, digitalanalog electronics, data taking and analysis
