The aim of the research project is to study the macrozoobenthos of hard bottoms by comparing symbiotic and aposimbiotic species in the scenario of climate change, in both natural and artificial
environments. The main model species will be porifers (Chondrosia reniformis, Petrosia ficiformis and Cliona viridis) and
anthozoans (Corallium rubrum, Eunicella singularis and Cladocora caespitosa). The research involves both field activities,
using underwater scientific methodologies, and laboratory activities that involve the application of taxonomic knowledge
for the recognition of porifera and cnidarians. The study areas will be the Adriatic Sea and the Ligurian Sea.
