Offer Description

Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to conducting bibliographic research (and archival whereas possible) to trace the historical evolution of the Nuclear Anthropocene concept, including its scientific, political, and cultural dimensions also in consideration of the recent findings of radiogenic fallout as the golden spike of the Anthropocene. The candidate will also contribute to co-organize and design activities such as an international and interdisciplinary workshop/conference, and public engagement initiatives.

Skills/Qualifications

The interview, which will be held in English and telematically, aims to ascertain the skills on the following topics:
- knowledge of anthropocene theory and contemporary studies from both a geostratigraphic and cultural-historical;
- knowledge of the history and epistemology of biosphere studies, global ecology, and science of the earth system;
- knowledge of the nuclear age, transnational dialogue on radiogenic fallout, and nuclear winter theory;
- knowledge of Cold War history and scientific diplomacy on environmental issues and Soviet contribution;
- ascertainment of knowledge of the Italian language for foreign candidates.


Specific Requirements

Knowledge of the English Language is a fundamental requirement and the interview will be held in this language.

Benefits

The research fellowship amounts to 19.367,00 Euros per year, including taxes and social charges.

The selection is made through evaluation of candidates' scientific and professional qualifications, curriculum vitae, scientific production, followed by an interview


Selection process

Short-listed candidates will be invited for the interview on April 10th 2024 at 10:00 am (Rome CET) via Google Meet.
The interview will be held in English and in remote only. Further details on how to connect online will be published alongside the convocation notice.
The short-list of the candidates admitted to the interview and the related calendar, or any postponement, will be published on the University’s webpage on April 3rd 2024.
