In the context of the project PRIN-ICCC the grant aims to study the dissolved and particulate distribution of trace elements in marine waters in the Aeolian Basin. In this context, will be studied the role of organic matter on the distribution of metals between phases. The ICCC project aims to study the effects of climate change on: - Mediterranean circulation, - biogeochemical cycles, - distribution between the various forms of trace elements to assess potential toxic effects on the ecosystem with a systematic and innovative approach. The project plans to use numerical models to simulate the evolution of geochemical and hydrodynamic processes and to study and quantify the effects of climate change on chemical speciation and the distribution between the phases of some elements, this involves use of experimental data for the development of models and for their calibration
