Bridging behavioural change with innovation in the African food systems

Updated: almost 3 years ago
Deadline: 03 Aug 2021

The project implies theoretical as well as empirical approaches to analyse needs, preferences and conditions that affect the deployment and propagation of new technological solutions in the African farming systems as well as the consumers’ propensity / willingness to adopt new food products ensuring a healthier and more balanced diet.
With this aim the research will combine behavioural experiments with surveys conducted with African farmers and consumers in 6 countries at different levels of nutrition transition and will develop statistical analyses of the obtained results both at country and project level, thus contributing to improving knowledge of specific behavioural patterns among societies and persons.
The research programme aims at supporting business decisions and public policies both in ex-post and in ex-ante scenarios, to drive and accelerate the deployment and diffusion of product, process and social innovations while boosting the fight against malnutrition.
