Studying the role of the retinoic acid pathway in regulating fibro-adipogenic progenitors ability to promote skeletal muscle re-innervation in mouse models of denervation.
Activities include the molecular and histological characterization of skeletal muscles of mouse models with FAPs-specific ablation of RA signalling subjected to denervation

Degree in Biological Sciences; PhD in “Cell and Developmental Biology” obtained no later than 3 years
Specific Requirements
Proven experience of a minimum of 3 years in the study of skeletal muscle physiology and in the cell populations involved in its homeostasis and regeneration. Beyond a proven experience in common cellular and molecular biology techniques, a track record in the culture and isolation of fibro-adipogenic progenitors from skeletal muscle, in histology and immunohistochemical techniques of skeletal muscle tissue will be an advantage, as well as to have gained experience in the in vivo treatment of mouse models with muscular phenotype and in the management of mouse colonies.
