Offer Description

Study and design of algorithms and models for interpretable so-called 'global' Machine Learning. The exploration will cover both approaches that build 'rule-based' models such as oblique decision trees and approaches based on latent spaces to generate explanations in the form of examples and counterexamples. The aim of the research will be to extend such approaches to deal with multi-label classifiers and to deal with complex data such as images, spatio-temporal data and text.

Eligibility criteria

The selection procedure is open to applicants who have completed a Master’s degree in Physics, Mathematical-Physical Modeling for Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Methodologies for the Humanities, Techniques and Methods for the Information Society (in accordance with earlier Italian university regulations, or a second-cycle undergraduate degree as per the interdepartmental decree of 9 July 2009). Candidates who have completed the aforementioned degrees abroad may also apply, if said degrees are recognized as equivalent to Italian degrees.
Knowledge of English language is also required to carry out the research activity.
