Postdoctoral Position in Observational Exoplanet Research

The research group of Dr Lev Tal-Or is seeking a qualified candidate for a postdoctoral position in observational exoplanet science. The primary research topics may include:

  • Planet detection by means of Doppler spectroscopy.
  • Stellar activity and its impact on exoplanets.
  • Transiting-planet detection and characterization.

The research work consists of numerical data analysis and astronomical observations. Preference will be given to excellent researchers, with experience in radial velocity detection of planets around active stars. Since postdoctoral fellows in the group assist with MSc and PhD student training, candidates with basic leadership skills will be given priority.

The successful candidate will have access to a high-performance computational facility, travel funds, and strong ties with the CARMENES consortium and Tel Aviv University's exoplanets research group. The postdoctoral position is intended to last for two years. The minimum monthly fellowship is 10,000 NIS (tax free) and it may be increased up to 12,000 NIS for outstanding candidates. Starting dates may vary between July and October 2024.
