The purpose of the post is to provide technical support for the educational and academic missions of the School of Biochemistry and Immunology, Trinity College Dublin. The appointee will work with members of staff to ensure that a world-class standard of practical teaching continues to be delivered at undergraduate and postgraduate degree levels across a range of disciplines. The learning outcomes in the teaching laboratory range from the mastering of introductory techniques to the understanding and learning of complex biochemical techniques and methodologies using advanced instrumentation.

Applications are invited for the post of Technical Officer (Term-time) in the School of Biochemistry and Immunology, Trinity College Dublin. The appointee will be based in the school’s teaching laboratory, which is located in Trinity Biomedical Sciences Institute, Pearse Street, Dublin 2. The school’s practical teaching programme has expanded in recent years and the range of service delivery now includes undergraduate teaching in Biochemistry, Immunology, Neuroscience, Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Human Health & Disease, Radiation Therapy and a number of postgraduate MSc. programmes. This post will provide the additional high-level technical support capacity required during the teaching terms. This is a term-time post, which will require attendance for 6 months of the year on a 4-day week basis. Post Status: Permanent -  This is a term-time post, which will require attendance for 6 months of the year on a 4-day week basis.

Hours: Pro rata (4 days per week) of full time 36.5 Hours Per Week

Salary: Appointment will be made on the Technical Officer Pay Scale Salary Scale] at a point in line with Government Pay Policy [€35,382 to €54,786 per annum] New Entrants to the Public Sector will be appointed on Point 1 of the Scale, €35,382 per annum
