The Role

The Teaching and Learning Development Officer will contribute to a range of initiatives and programmes towards the enhancement of Teaching, Learning and Assessment at Maynooth University. A central part of this role will be the development and facilitation of accredited programmes and non-accredited continuing professional development for academic and professional staff, postgraduate tutors and demonstrators, and teaching assistants.

Applicants should hold a postgraduate qualification in Education or a related discipline. They should have substantial experience in delivering professional development workshops in Teaching and Learning to staff and should be engaging in research in Teaching, Learning and Assessment.

The Teaching and Learning Development Officer will report to the Head of Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL) and will work closely with other CTL staff on a range of areas:

Leading the administration, delivery, and continued enhancement of professional development courses for academic staff, including the PG Diploma in Higher Education Teaching, Learning, and Assessment;

Contributing to the cross-disciplinary teaching of those courses including leading teaching on some programme modules;

Administrative Officer II (2022) Salary Scale:          € 39,628 – € 56,860 p.a. (9 points)

Appointments will be made in accordance with public sector pay provisions.
