Applications are invited for a specified purpose post of a Teaching Fellow (Graduate Taught Studies) within UCD School of Medicine.

The Advance Centre brings together academic experts and industry leaders from across the high-tech sector with the common goal of delivering a portfolio of modules and courses addressing Irish industry's future skills needs in the digital arena. Addressing Irish industry's future skills needs in the digital arena. A key goal of the Centre is to support upskilling professional learners seeking flexible study options alongside full-time students. Advance Centre is a partnership between University College Dublin, ATU Sligo, and TU Dublin. The Centre is financially supported by the Higher Education Authority under the Human Capital Initiative Pillar 3. The Centre was founded in 2020 by University College Dublin, ATU Sligo and TU Dublin. This Teaching Fellow position will be linked to the Advance Centre modules and degree programmes are taught by the UCD School of Medicine in the Advance Centre thematic areas of Artificial Intelligence for Medicine and Health Data Analytics.

Working in partnership with the UCD Advance Centre team, the UCD School of Medicine seeks to recruit a temporary teaching fellow. Across sectors, there is a demand for flexible, personalised programmes to meet the needs of industry and a continuing professional development focussed sector. Recognising industry needs, the School of Medicine aims to enhance existing module offerings, and develop new modules, which allow individuals to learn at their own pace and level, based on their skillset and circumstances. Such flexibility will be attractive to workplace learners and encourage engagement in life long learning to enhance career development.

The appointee will be expected to support the development of selected Graduate Taught modules / microcredential offerings within the School of Medicine, across identified priority areas linked to modules within our Artificial Intelligence for Medicine and Medical Research, Healthcare Informatics, and Precision Medicine programmes. This will include supporting the development of content, supporting learning resources and assessment strategies, in conjunction with subject matter experts within the School. The successful candidate may also be required to contribute to the delivery and administration of redesigned modules and new microcredential offerings during their rollout.

Teaching Fellows are expected to participate actively in the academic life of the School and make a contribution to School administration. The post is developmental, and the appointee will be supported to develop their experience and skills towards future career opportunities.

Salary: 39,390 per annum (pro rata)

Appointment will be made on scale and in accordance with the Department of Finance guidelines
