Cancer Research @UCC is now seeking a dynamic candidate for the key position of Cancer Research Program Manager (Senior Research Manager) to ensure the smooth and efficient day-to-day operations of the Cancer Research @UCC and the UCC Cancer Trials Group, to manage and ensure full implementation of Cancer Research @UCC policies and procedures, and to engage effectively with our key stakeholders and funders.
 
The Cancer Research Program Manager will support the Director of Cancer Research @UCC to achieve the agreed strategic and administrative goals of the Centre and the UCC Cancer Trials Group, and will serve as the primary interface between the Facility and UCC. S/He will provide high level coordination to several academic research projects to maximise outputs and synergies and will ensure the research work within the centre meets good practice and data protection standards. The Cancer Research Program Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Centre, infrastructure and equipment, in collaboration with technical and administrative staff, in accordance with UCC requirements and other relevant legislation and is responsible for implementing the UCC Health and Safety protocols across the Centre and affiliated sites.  
 
The Program Manager will be expected to contribute to the development and implementation of Cancer Research @UCC strategy and to contribute to business development. The Program Manager may be asked to support other aspects of the Cancer Research @UCC work when relevant and the appointee will be expected to have a flexible approach in this regard. The ideal candidate will be proactive, enthusiastic, very organised and capable of managing a heavy and diverse workload. She/He will be able to work under pressure and be able to effectively manage many competing demands simultaneously. 
 
The Program Manager will have a minimum of 3+ year post graduation experience of providing high level administrative and project management support to a research centre, programme and/or in a research area. Healthcare and/or clinical research experience preferred. It is preferable that the candidate have experience in the cancer research space and in initiating and coordinating multicentre studies.
