Permanent Whole Time Post

UCC wishes to appoint an experienced academic to the above role.  Reporting to the Head of School, the appointee to this role will have a proven track record in research, teaching and academic leadership in the social sciences and, in particular, in youth work, community development and social activism. They will contribute to teaching, learning and assessment on the undergraduate and post graduate degrees in youth and community work and to other programmes in the School of Applied Social Studies as appropriate. The appointee will be responsible for Programme direction of the Bachelor of Social Science (Youth and Community Work) and for leadership in the discipline within the School, College and University. In addition, the appointee will be expected to engage in student supervision at undergraduate and postgraduate level and to pursue an active research strategy. The appointee will liaise with accreditation bodies and will play a leadership role in the accreditation of relevant undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in the School of Applied Social Studies.

Appointment may be made on the Senior Lecturer Salary Scale: €72,504 - €102,731 (Scale B) / €70,018 - €97,594 (Scale A)

Salary placement on appointment will be in accordance with public sector pay policy.
