The key role of the Science and Engineering Promotion Officer is to promote the programmes offered by the Faculty of Science and Engineering at Maynooth University to prospective applicants, and other key stakeholders. The post-holder will be expected to significantly increase the undergraduate and postgraduate applications to the University’s science and engineering programmes. They will enhance the Faculty team and support the Admissions Office and the Graduate Studies Office, in ensuring that all the outreach functions of the Faculty and both Offices are successfully completed in an effective and efficient manner. A feature of the post will be the creation of opportunities to enhance the profile of science and engineering at Maynooth.

Reporting to the Dean of the Faculty, or his/her nominee, a key role to this post will be to liaise and relate to and empathise with potential applicants, and other stakeholders. The effective discharge of the duties requires the development and maintenance of good working relationships particularly with external partners such as school principals, guidance counsellors, teachers, funding agencies as well as academic and non-academic colleagues across the Faculty and the university.

Administrative Officer II (2022):                                       €39,628 – €56,860 p.a. (9 points)

Appointments will be made in accordance with public sector pay provisions.
