School Manager

The School of Nursing and Midwifery is currently seeking to appoint a School Manager to successfully plan and manage the administrative activities of the School and oversee the day to day operation of the School, including the management of significant resources; leadership, supervision, development and appraisal of a number of support staff teams; and provision of advice and interpretation on Faculty and University policies and requirements.

As a core member of the School Management Board the School Manager provides strategic and operational advice to the Head of School and works with the Head to develop and implement strategies and mechanisms to ensure the effective and efficient functioning of the School.

As the successful applicant you will have the following –

  • A primary degree OR evidence of substantial relevant managerial experience.
  • A minimum of five years’ relevant experience of management or administration at a relatively senior level.
  • Proven analytical and organisational capability across a range of managerial functions including financial management.
  • Proven experience in the management of significant change.
  • Demonstrated high level skills in budget development, financial management and cost control to achieve operational and strategic goals.
  • Demonstrated skills in strategic and operational planning and providing high level advice, particularly in the areas of financial and human resource management.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement policy, new management systems and to maintain a process of continuous improvement.
