The Trinity St James Cancer Institute (TSJCI), Trinity College Dublin (TCD), the University of Dublin, and St James’s Hospital (SJH) seek to appoint a Professor of Clinical Immuno-oncology/Consultant Medical Oncologist.

The post will be based at both St James’s Hospital and Trinity College Dublin. This post will be located in the TSJCI, reporting to the Head of School of Medicine and co-directors of the TSJCI and clinically to the Clinical Director of the Haematology, Oncology, Palliative Care and Psychological Medicine (HOPe) Directorate at SJH.

TSJCI was established in 2014 as a collaborative project of St James’s Hospital, Ireland’s largest hospital and Trinity College Dublin, its premier university and collaborates with a wide range of partners including the St Luke’s Radiation Oncology Network (SLRON), Children’s Health Ireland (CHI), the National Cancer Control Programme (NCCP), Cancer Trials Ireland (CTI) and the Irish Cancer Society (ICS).  It is formally constituted under a memorandum of understanding between the two institutions and governed by a board with an independent chair.  In 2019, TSJCI was designated as a Cancer Centre by the Organization of European Cancer Institutes (OECI), the first of its kind in Ireland.  In 2022, TSJCI entered into partnership with the ICS, recognising the importance of ensuring the patient is at the heart of all we do. 

Post status: Permanent Contract (Full time).

Salary: Appointment will be made on HSE scale at a point in line with Government Pay Policy
