The College Health Service, at Trinity College, Dublin, seeks to appoint a Practice Nurse to work as part of a multidisciplinary team of GP’s, Practice Nurses, Physiotherapist, Psychiatrist, Psychiatric Nurse, the College Health Promotion Officer, and an Administrative Team providing primary health care to the University community.

The Service is based on the main Trinity Campus and has recently moved to a new modern, purpose-built premises at Printing House Square, Trinity College. Almost all Practice Nursing work is carried out at Printing House Square, but the successful candidate may see patients at other locations within and without Trinity as required by the Director.

The College Health Service was founded in 1965. It aims to take a holistic approach to Student Health and in addition to providing on campus, primary health care for all students, it focuses on the psychological and occupational aspects of Student Health and Health Education.

The service delivers care through a combination of fixed appointment and open access surgeries as well as telephone, video or online consultations. In addition, the Service also runs specific clinics in the areas of Sexual Health, including Cervical Smears, Contraception, Eating Disorders, Travel Health, Occupational Medicine, including Vaccination Programmes, Minor Surgery, ADHD, and Psychiatry.

The Practice Nurses report to the Medical Director. Please note that Garda Vetting will be sought in respect of individuals who come under consideration for a post.

Post status: Permanent Contract

Hours of Post: 17.5 hours (0.5 FTE)

Salary: This appointment will be made on the Administrative 2 Salary Scale (€53,035 - €62,316) pro rata per annum at a point in line with current Government pay policy. monthly/weekly payscales. (tcd.ie)
