Post Doctoral Researcher

Updated: about 1 year ago
Job Type: FullTime
Deadline: 05 Mar 2023

Maynooth University is committed to a strategy in which the primary University goals of excellent research and scholarship and outstanding education are interlinked and equally valued.

We are seeking to recruit a postdoctoral researcher to join a project funded by the National Open Research Forum (NORF) to develop a training programme for open research in Ireland. The work is being led by Dr. Dermot Lynott (PI), as part of a consortium of partners across 11 Irish Higher Education institutions.

The appointed researcher on the Training in Open Research in an Irish Context (TROPIC) project will take a leading role in developing a training programme for open research, and over the course of the project, begin building a network of open research trainers. The researcher will work closely with the PI and project partners to meet the goals of the project.

Initial phases of the project will involve project scoping and needs assessment using survey and interview data, followed by the collation of training materials (from existing and new content), culminating in a piloting of the programme as part of a summer school in 2024. Each of these elements is linked to a specific project work package, and the researcher will liaise regularly with work package leads to ensure work package goals are being met.
