Applications are invited for a Temporary post of a Post-doctoral Research Fellow Level 1 & Level 2 within UCD School of Medicine.
This exciting role, based in the Conway Institute for Biomedical and Biomolecular Research in UCD, will involve extensive collaboration with the HIPPOCRATES partners and be focussed on
i) proteomics data generation to improve diagnostic and therapeutic options for patients living with the PsA
ii) working with other project partners to integrate the proteomics data with other omics data (i.e. epigenomics, metabolomics, lipidomics) including association with genetic variations
iii) clinical data transformation and harmonisation
This is a research focused role, where you will conduct a specified programme of research supported by research training and development under the supervision and direction of a Principal Investigator.
The primary purpose of the role is to further develop your research skills and competences, including the processes of publication in peer-reviewed academic publications, the development of funding proposals, the mentorship of graduate students along with the opportunity to develop your skills in research led teaching.
The successful candidate will carry out the following duties specific to this project:
* Using clinical samples from multiple psoriasis, PsA and other cohorts to apply unbiased liquid chromatography-mass LC-MS/MS proteomics discovery strategies.
* Use appropriate statistical analysis methods to identify novel individual serum and/or tissue proteins or panels of proteins that may serve as candidate biomarkers
* Mentor and assist research graduate students and other lab-based researchers
Support the UCD Project leads and UCD Project administrator in the coordination of the research activities.
Post-doctoral Research Fellow Level 1 Salary Range: €42,033 - €48,427 per annum
Post-doctoral Research Fellow Level 2 Salary Range: €49,790 - €54,153 per annum
Appointment on the above range will be dependent upon qualifications and experience.
