The Role

We are seeking an excellent academic to join our staff as an Assistant Professor/Lecturer in Criminology, to support the delivery of our undergraduate programmes, the BCL (Law and Criminology) and BA Criminology, and our postgraduate MA in Comparative Criminology and Criminal Justice.

Candidates should have an excellent broad knowledge of criminological theory and criminal justice. While applicants with specialisms in all areas of criminology are welcome, the School would particularly welcome applications from candidates with specialisms in: green criminology; drugs and crime; organised crime; criminal networks, and quantitative methods.

Assistant Professor/ Lecturer (2021*) Salary Scale:                         €53,774 – €87,724 p.a. (7 points)

Assistant Lecturer (2021*) Salary Scale:                                           €35,246 – €61,595 p.a. (14 points)

Appointment will be made in accordance with the Department of Finance pay guidelines.

*New entrants to the public sector will be appointed on the first point of the Assistant Lecturer (2021) payscale or the Lecturer (2021) payscale.
