The School of Education at University College Dublin seeks to appoint three lecturers in Education, two of whom will be appointed at Assistant Professor level, while one will be appointed at Associate Professor level. The commencement dates will be between November 2022 and January 2023. Two appointments will be on a permanent full-time basis, while one will be a five-year full-time temporary post. The current identified priority areas of need within the School of Education are: methodologies in Initial Teacher Education (Gaeilge and/or Modern Languages, related to a new BEd in Education, Gaeilge and Modern Language(s) programme); Educational Leadership; Inclusive Education; Educational Psychology; and cognate areas.
The appointees will be expected to work collaboratively with School of Education colleagues in designing and teaching modules and developing programmes within the specified areas and, where applicable, assist with supervision of students who are undertaking professional placements as part of their programmes. The appointees will also engage in research supervision at both Masters and Doctoral level.
The successful candidates will be scholars who have obtained doctoral qualifications in Education or a cognate area. They will have published in their relevant disciplines in peer-reviewed academic journals and have papers in the review process for such journals. They will have experience of teaching at postgraduate level and preferably have a thorough knowledge of the Irish education system, and ideally also have international collaborative networks. The appointees will be expected to participate actively in the academic life of the School and make a commensurate contribution to School administration.
95 Lecturer/Assistant Professor Above The Bar Salary: €55,951 - €88,601 per annum
95 Associate Professor: €72,731 - €102,712 per annum
Appointment will be made on scale and in accordance with the Department of Finance guidelines.
