Lecturer / Assistant Professor

The school has developed a specialist stream in its LLB programme in the area of Law and Technology (specifically how technology impacts the legal profession, and how this impact is communicated) and is seeking an excellent academic to join our staff as Assistant Professor / Lecturer in Law and Technology. We would welcome applications from those with teaching and research interests in:

• The impact of innovation and technology on law and the profession of Law; 
• The role of communication in law and technological change;
• Legislative & regulatory change to adapt to technology change;
• Practical or clinical education in law and technology.

The person appointed will have a proven record of teaching, research and publication, appropriate to career stage. They will be expected to make a strong contribution to the teaching programme of the School, particularly to undertake teaching duties on the School’s undergraduate (LLB, BCL, and the Études Juridiques programme, where teaching is caried out in Lyon, France), and postgraduate (International Business Law, International Justice, and Global Legal Studies), programmes, to facilitate and supervise placements and research projects for students, and to supervise Master’s and PhD students.

The appointee will be expected to build a strong research profile, that supports the University and School research strategy, including affiliating to the Research Institutes, where appropriate and working with colleagues on national and international research. The appointees will be expected to sustain and conduct research, engage in scholarship of quality and substance and generate publications of international standard. 

Assistant Professor / Lecturer (Post 1995*):                    € 55,951 – € 88,601 per annum (7 points)

Assistant Lecturer (2022):                                               € 35,598 – € 62,211 p.a. (14 points)

* Appointments will be made in accordance with public sector pay provisions
