We are seeking an excellent academic to join our staff as an Assistant Professor / Lecturer in the Department of Adult and Community Education. Candidates should have a Doctorate in Adult and Community Education (or cognate area) or be nearing completion of their Doctorate. The preferred candidate will develop and deliver pedagogies and reflective practices in Adult Education and Adult Guidance Counselling for Continuous Professional Development (CPD) programme delivery, including options of in-person, eLearning, and blended learning. They will develop CPD and micro credentials programmes in Adult Guidance Counselling including psychometric assessments, employment, and labour market guidance. They will create networks across the Adult Guidance Counselling sector with a view to influencing national policy and practice on Lifelong Guidance.
Candidates will have a proven record of teaching, research, and publication, appropriate to career stage.
The appointee will be expected to build a strong research profile, that supports the University’s research strategy including affiliating to the Research Institutes where appropriate and working with colleagues on national and international research. The appointee will be expected to sustain and conduct research, engage in scholarship of quality and substance, and generate publications of international standard.
Assistant Professor / Lecturer (2022) Salary Scale : €55,951 – €88,601 p.a. (7 points)
Assistant Lecturer (2022) Salary Scale : €35,598 – €62,211 p.a. (14 points)
Appointments will be made in accordance with public sector pay provisions.
