Lecturer/Assistant Professor in Literature & Medical Humanities

Applications are invited for a permanent post as Lecturer/Assistant Professor in Literature and the Medical Humanities within the UCD School of English, Drama and Film.

Applicants are expected to have a strong track record of successful grant awards in the area of the medical humanities and cognitive/empirical literary studies, and a strong record of research and publication in modern literature, with a specific emphasis on the medical humanities and literary reception. The successful candidate will lead new initiatives in the medical humanities in the University, in research, teaching, and in the development of new programmes. The appointed candidate will also have the capacity to develop additional high-quality funding proposals in the areas of medical humanities and cognitive/empirical literary studies, and to enhance the collaboration between UCD School of English, Drama and Film and other UCD Schools which participate in the medical humanities. Ideally, the candidate will also have experience of taking medical-humanities based interdisciplinary approaches to the topic of sexual violence.

Salary: 95 Lecturer / Assistant Professor Above the Bar (7943) €55,951 - €88,601 per annum

Appointment will be made on scale and in accordance with the Department of Finance guidelines
