Applications are invited for a Permanent post of a Lecturer/Assistant Professor in Electrical Power Systems Technology and Controls within UCD School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering

The School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at University College Dublin, Dublin, Ireland, now wishes to make a permanent academic appointment in Electrical Engineering in the area of electrical power systems technologies and controls. The person appointed will have a strong record of research and accomplishment in fundamental scientific areas underpinning the design, analysis and control of power system technologies, and will complement and support existing expertise relating to the integration of high levels of renewables, smart grid applications and control of distributed energy resources.

It is expected that the appointee will have the qualifications and experience to deliver high quality research-informed teaching and learning up to Masters level, contributing to Bachelor and Master degrees in Electrical Engineering, particularly relating to renewable energy systems, electrical machines and power electronics in the context of sustainable power systems. It is expected that the successful candidate will maintain an active personal research programme, publishing in leading international journals and conferences, and pursuing opportunities for research funding while participating fully in the programmes and academic activities of the School, College and University.

The person appointed will be located within the School of Electrical & Electronic Engineering and will be expected to develop into a leading figure within the international power systems research community, building up and sustaining a leading internationally important research team, and interacting with other disciplinary areas within the university.

Salary:95 Lecturer/Asst Professor Above The Bar (7943) €55,951 - €88,601 per annum

Appointment will be made on scale and in accordance with the Department of Finance guidelines.
