Applications are invited for a temporary post of an ERC Research Assistant within UCD School of Art History and Cultural Policy

Applications are invited for a half time research assistant in the UCD School of Art History and Cultural Policy. The position will support a new European Research Council (ERC) advanced project running until 31 December 2026 under the direction of Prof. Kathleen James-Chakraborty. The project is entitled “Expanding Agency: Women, Race, and the Global Dissemination of Modern Architecture.” The project aims to write more inclusive histories of modern architecture and design.

The successful candidate will have a background in art history, architecture, or a related discipline. They will work with team members to locate primary and secondary source material, order illustrations for publication, set up a website and social media accounts, disseminate news about the project on social media, and assist in organising a conference and facilitating the visits of international scholars.

As a research assistant you will work to ensure the effective delivery of the transnational 5-year research project alongside the postdocs and research team. You will be a valued and critical member of the team. You will be a key contact point and connection between academics, project partners and participants at UCD and abroad. You will operate within the ethical and methodological structures and ethos of the project to arrange key events and interactions.

Fixed salary: €31,355 per annum (pro rata 0.5 fte)
