Post Summary

The vision for the AMBER Education and Public Engagement (EPE) programme is to inspire, facilitate and celebrate engagement between our researchers and their audiences (students, teachers and members of the public amongst others) to encourage authentic involvement in materials science and bioengineering research.

The centres mission is to provide multiple entry points and engagement pathways for publics to engage with AMBER’s research across communications , events, and our education and engaged research programmes.

The Education & Training (ET) Manager is responsible for the development and implementation of these Education and Outreach programmes, with specific emphasis on the training of AMBER Researchers and staff in facilitation, communication, and pedagogical skills. This programme is crucial to a successful renewal of the Centre’s multiannual funding. The programmes also contribute significantly to successfully meeting annual key performance indicators set out by Science Foundation Ireland.

Reporting to the General Manager and leading the Education and Public Engagement (EPE) activity within the centre, the ET Manager will develop, drive and deliver existing and new internal and external training programmes targeting (1) AMBER researchers  (80 PI’s, 300 Researchers) and staff across 9 partner Universities and (2) Primary and Post-primary teachers to meet our objectives set out above.

Post status: Specific Purpose Contract

Hours of Post: 35 hours per week


Salary:

This appointment will be made on the Administrative 1 (Points 1-3), Salary Scale (€64,401 - €83,310 per annum) at a point in line with current Government pay policy.
